In honor of Mothers

This last weekend was mothers day. Which if I weren't spending the day celebrating my mom, this post would have been up much sooner. Yet, I still want to honor my mom and all other mothers in the world, whether you have been one for quite a while or will be one in the far future. God has called us to be women of God and we must strive to live for Him in that way.
I admire my mom so much and every time I read Proverbs 30, I think of her. So truly has the characteristics and the heart of a woman after the Lord. I love her dearly and I hope some day I will be a good mother just as she is.
In honor of my mom, I wrote her a song. Enjoy and strive to be all that God has made you to be!

Picked up from the fall.

Over this past weekend I had a chance to embrace one of my fears, skiing. It was my first time and I was going to put my fears behind me and enjoy God's wonderful nature. However, funny story, I was half way down my first run, on the bunny hill that is, and I was doing alright until...I biffed it. I'm not sure how I accomplished it but somehow I landed faced down with my legs all twisted and my skis flung on both sides of me. I sprained my ankle and now I'm back in daily life trying to make it around on crutches. Haha it's just my luck, maybe later I will try to ski again but for now I'm hobbling around trying not to hurt myself anymore. I've realized through this that I have amazing friends that care so much for me, getting me dinner, carrying me up the stairs and teasing me to make me feel better. "Yet God has made everything beautiful in it's own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so people cannot see the scope of God's work from beginning to end." Ecclesiastes 3:11 Somedays I wish I were a kid again.  So I wouldn't have to have a worry about life. This time of year gets crazy as classes get tougher, finals are almost here, spring break is coming, registering for classes and trying to figure out living situations for the next year. BUT God says quite WORRYING! It's hard to just let go and give it all to Christ but I'm just trying to do that day by day and I know that his plan for me is way bigger than my little worrying habits. Mixed feelings about the Superbowl

This weekend one of my favorite and least favorite events is happening. All month I have been looking forward to February 2 but also completely dreading this day at the same time. You might be thinking sheesh girl you have some polar opposite emotions about this day! You are right, I totally do!  I am completely ecstatic that the seahawks will be playing in the superbowl!! It's only their second time ever at the superbowl and I am so proud of our NW team! My family has always been fans and well this time the seahawks must win! I even got inspired by a friend to make seahawk scarfs for my business, why not they are awesome!
